President and CEO

Richard E. Nicolazzo, founder and CEO of Nicolazzo & Associates, has extensive experience in strategic communications management and planning, merger and acquisition communications, issues management, litigation support, media relations and crisis communications. Clients include many leading regional, national and international corporations and organizations.

Working directly with chief executive officers and senior management teams, he has served as counsel to numerous firms, American International Group, Audax Group, Bain Capital, Boston Consulting Group, Cabletron Systems, Caritas Christi Health Care System, Emerson Hospital, Fidelity Investments, Fleet Financial Group, Foley Hoag, General Motors, John Hancock, Lincare, MetLife HealthCare, Nortek Holdings, Reebok International, Ropes & Gray, PhRMA, Premier Technology, Sun Life of Canada, University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Prior to founding Nicolazzo & Associates in 1975, Mr. Nicolazzo was an executive with Burson-Marsteller in New York. Since its formation, Nicolazzo & Associates has consulted with Burson-Marsteller, Hill & Knowlton, Fleishman Hillard and other major communications firms in the United States and abroad. Mr. Nicolazzo holds a bachelor's and master's degree in public relations and communications from Boston University.

Mr. Nicolazzo, a nationally recognized expert on strategic communications management and crisis communications, is a frequent guest lecturer and keynote speaker at university and industry forums. He has appeared on broadcast business shows such as CNN's Money Line and Peter Marx's Business Insight, he authors contributed articles to major print media such as The Boston Globe, and has been a featured speaker at Nasdaq/Amex Executive Program Investor Relations Conferences. Mr. Nicolazzo is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and PRSA's Counselors Academy. He belongs to the Turnaround Management Association, the Boston University National Alumni Council, and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. He is a current member of the Pioneer Institute of public policy research.

Mr. Nicolazzo has served on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Music Theatre and the Boston Center for the Arts, the Examining Committee of the Boston Public Library, WGBH-TV's Business Task Force, and is the former director of the Newton (Massachusetts) Boys and Girls Club.
